Karl Brandt (local history researcher)

Karl Brandt (born April 15, 1898 in Baukau ; died July 2, 1974 in Bremen ) was the museum director of the Emschertal Museum and a local researcher .

He carried out a number of studies and published extensively. On the Hillerberg in Bochum-Hiltrop , Brandt was able to excavate the first and so far longest large house of the Rössen culture .

His son was the archaeologist Karl Heinz Brandt (1922-2014).
