Karl Christian Ferdinand Chop , also Carl Christian Ferdinand Chop (born June 18, 1767 in Sondershausen ; † June 21, 1840 there ) was a German civil servant.

Life

Karl Christian Ferdinand Chop was the son of Friedrich Hieronymus Chop (* 1732; † 1785), court, consistorial and cabinet councilor in Sondershausen, and his wife Dorothea Sabina (* born unknown; † 1791), née. Sour beer.

Since September 22, 1790 he was with Caroline Wilhelmine Christiane (* 1766; † August 8, 1831), b. Wölfert, married. They had a daughter together, Charlotte Chop.

Karl Christian Ferdinand Chop attended the Georg-August University in Göttingen to study law. After completing his studies, he returned to Sondershausen and became a lawyer there .

Prince Karl Günther hired him as administrative administrator in Haßleben , an exclave of the Principality of Schwarzburg-Sondershausen , and brought him back to Sondershausen after three years, in order to employ him as an assessor in the Chamber and Finance Department and shortly afterwards in the same capacity with the government college.

He became court and consistorial councilor and then a real secret council and member of the secret cabinet .

In the period from 1806 to 1815 he was given almost all of the organizational tasks that had to be carried out during this war period, e.g. B. organizing billeting and meeting demands. During this time he became a member of the secret council (council assembly) of Schwarzburg-Sondershausen in 1810. This council formed the head of the state administration, in which the prince presided and in which the chancellor and other members were represented.

Due to resentment and envy, he was attacked in the early 1820s and accusations were made that led to his being exempted from all offices while retaining his salary. A long and costly process proved his innocence, but also prevented his further professional advancement.

He died in debt so that bankruptcy had to be opened after his death.
