Karl Deibicht

Karl Deibicht (born February 10, 1913 in Halle (Saale) , † February 14, 1963 ) was a German politician ( SPD ) and trade unionist for IG Metall .

Life and politics

Karl Deibicht was a trained toolmaker . In 1933 he was persecuted by the National Socialists and taken into custody.

After the war he sat for his party from October 1946 to 1949 in the first freely elected citizenship . In addition, he was a member of the labor authority as a deputy for many years .

In addition to his partisan work, he was an active trade unionist. He took part in the rebuilding of the unions in the post-war period. In 1946 he became secretary of the IG Metall in Hamburg, which was in the process of being set up, and from 1949 took on the role of authorized representative of the Hamburg administrative office. In 1949 he was elected to the advisory board of his union. He then became a member of the district commission and was entrusted with the management of the Hamburg district. From 1963 on he was an executive board member within the union.
