Karl Dobnigg

Karl Dobnigg (born May 13, 1949 in Seiz ) is an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and works council. Dobnigg was a member of the Austrian National Council from 1999 to 2008 and has been mayor of chambers in Liesingtal since 2005 .

education and profession

Karl Dobnigg attended elementary school in Seiz from 1955 to 1959 and then went to secondary school in Mautern until 1963 . He then learned the trade of machine fitter and graduated from vocational school in 1967 . He then did his military service between 1968 and 1969. From 1967 he worked as a fitter in the Donawitz ironworks and in 1969 became an apprentice trainer or master teacher in the Donawitz ironworks (until 1988). 1971 to 1974 he graduated from the foremen's school for employed people. Between 1988 and 2000, Dobnigg was an exempt employee works council, and since 2000 he has been an exempt works council chairman for employees at voestalpine in Donawitz.

Political career

Karl Dobnigg was councilor of Kammern im Liesingtal between 1975 and 1980 and then until 2000 the local treasurer. Between 2000 and 2005 he was Deputy Mayor of Chambers and has been Mayor of the municipality since 2005. Since 1976 he has also been the local party chairman of the SPÖ chambers.

After the 1999 National Council elections, Dobnigg became a member of the National Council on October 29, 1999. He represented the SPÖ in the National Council until October 27, 2008.

Private

Karl Dobnigg is married and has a son and a daughter.
