Karl Donabauer
Karl Donabauer (born May 19, 1945 in Landstetten , Lower Austria ) is an Austrian farmer , politician ( ÖVP ) and member of the Austrian National Council .
Education and training
Karl Donabauer attended elementary and secondary school and then graduated from vocational school with the master's examination (agricultural master since 1968). As a farmer he has been the manager since 1973 and was appointed to the economic council in 1995 . After completing his professional training, Donabauer attended the Social Academy, where he dealt in particular with the subjects of “social security” and “intergenerational contract and solidarity”.
Political career
Karl Donabauer began his political career in 1969 as the local party chairman of the ÖVP Gerolding (until 1992). At the age of 25, Karl Donabauer became mayor of the Dunkelsteinerwald community in Lower Austria. He held this office until 1992. Donabauer has been active in the farmers' social security system since 1974. First he was a member of the supervisory committee (today the control assembly ), in 1989 he was elected chairman of the social insurance institution for farmers . Between 1990 and 1994 Donabauer also held the office of Vice President of the Lower Austrian Chamber of Agriculture . Since 1992 he has been district party chairman of the ÖVP Melk and since 2002 a member of the Austrian delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.
Donabauer has been an uninterrupted member of the Austrian National Council since November 7, 1994 and was elected via the constituency 3C ( Mostviertel ) in the 2006 elections. His political focus lies in the area of sustainable employment (training and further education), the development of businesses and agriculture, in the social area, medical care and in association and volunteer work.
In the legislative period up to 2013 he is a member of the following committees: Main Committee; Standing Subcommittee on European Union Affairs; Subcommittee of the constitutional committee; Labor and Social Affairs Committee; Health committee; Constitutional Committee.
Private
Karl Donabauer is married and has four children.
