Gerolding is a locality and a cadastral municipality of the market town of Dunkelsteinerwald , Lower Austria.

The village of Gerolding is four kilometers east of Schönbühel on the Danube and is at the intersection of the L5355 and L5356 state roads. In the village there are three individual layers and the only cellar lane in the community (see list of cellar lanes in Dunkelsteinerwald (community) ). On January 1st, 2020 there were 239 inhabitants in the village. In the Franziszeischen cadastre from 1821 Gerolding is listed as a Rotte with numerous farmsteads and other buildings.

According to legend, Gerolding was named after Count Gerold, who had a castle here on a hill that sank into the brook.

The place has a church, an outdoor swimming pool, an inn and a beer brewery.
