Karl Dornseiff

Karl August Wilhelm Louis Georg Dornseif (born April 18, 1812 in Gedern , † April 19, 1886 in Gießen ) was a Hessian lawyer and member of parliament.

Karl Dornseif was the son of the Giessen court clerk Friedrich Georg Ludwig Dornseiff († 1836) and his wife Friederike Louise Sophie, née Melior († 1821). Dornseif, who was a Protestant denomination, married Auguste nee Melior.

Dornseiff studied law at the University of Giessen from 1829 . After completing his studies, he was court clerk at the court in Giessen and in 1840 became a lawyer and procurator in Giessen. From 1880 he was admitted to the bar at the Giessen Regional Court . In 1883 he was promoted to Dr. jur. hc and appointed to the judiciary in 1885. He was a board member of the regional synod and the bar association.

From 1873 to 1886 he was a member of the First Chamber of the Estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse , appointed by the Grand Duke for life . He was appointed on September 30, 1873 and took his deputy oath on October 2, 1873 .
