Karl Egon von Reitzenstein

Karl Egon Freiherr von Reitzenstein (born April 10, 1873 in Pawlowitz , ( Polish: Pawłowice ) in Upper Silesia ; † November 18, 1924 at Pilgramsdorf Castle ( Polish: Pielgrzymowice ), a district of Pawlowitz) was a landowner, a German politician and later a German Minority politician in the Second Polish Republic .

Life

He was an active officer in the Prussian army and heir of the Pilgramsdorf manor for over 10 years.

From 1908 to 1918 he was a member of the Prussian House of Representatives , elected for the constituency of Pleß - Rybnik . He was supported in his election by the center and the Poles against conservative candidates.

From 1922 to 1924 he was a member of the Sejm in Warsaw and the Silesian Parliament ( Sejm Śląski ) in Katowice . He resigned from his mandate in Warsaw. In the Silesian Parliament he represented the German People's Federation for Polish Silesia , of which he was president. At the same time he was chairman of the German Club , the faction of the German minority in Poland . He also chaired the Association of German Landowners in Polish Silesia. Three attacks were directed against von Reitzenstein, one of which seriously damaged his castle.
