Karl Emanuel von Wattenwyl (baptized May 30, 1684 ; † December 3, 1754 ) was a Swiss lawyer and mayor of Bern .

Life

Karl Emanuel von Wattenwyl was born as the son of David and Johanna von Wattenwyl. In 1708 he married Barbara von Graffenried, daughter of Christoph von Graffenried . He studied law in Basel and Leiden , was mayor in 1710 and was a member of the Grand Council from 1718. From 1729 to 1735 he was Governor of Morges , and from 1741 a member of the Small Council. From 1744 to 1750 he served as the Deutschseckelmeister and from 1750 to 1753 as the Bernese mayor.

Karl Emanuel von Wattenwyl acquired the Baron Belp in 1720 .
