Karl von Westphalen

Karl Kuno Lubbert Graf von Westphalen (born August 12, 1898 in Münster , † October 18, 1975 in Bonn ) was a German politician and journalist ( CDU , later DFU ).

Karl Graf von Westphalen was the son of Franz Graf von Westphalen zu Fürstenberg . After graduating from high school, he became an officer. Most recently he was a major.

He joined the CDU after 1945. Based on the left wing of the party, he was early in opposition to Adenauer's policies . In 1952 he resigned from the CDU in protest against the policy of ties to the West and founded the German Club in 1954 , which, similar to the Bund der Deutschen Klub , had a national-neutralist program. In 1956 he gave a speech as a guest at the party congress of the Eastern CDU . After the establishment of the German Peace Union , he served as a member of the executive committee from 1962 to 1966. Karl Graf von Westphalen wrote several articles for the Deutsche Volkszeitung , he also co-founded the papers for German and international politics .
