Karl Groß (politician, 1883)

Karl Groß (born September 15, 1883 in Wolfstein , † April 10, 1949 in Landstuhl ) was a German politician ( FDP ).

Groß attended the Kaiserslautern grammar school and studied law in Munich and Würzburg. He completed his studies with a doctorate to become a Dr. jur. from. From 1910 he worked as a lawyer in Kaiserslautern. He was a soldier in the First World War . Then he was commercial operations manager at the textile factory Süssdorf & Co. in Ramstein .

In the Weimar Republic he was a member of the German People's Party . In 1921/22 he was active in the defense of separatism and in passive resistance. Between 1923 and 1925 he was expelled by the French occupying forces. After the seizure of power by the Nazis in 1933, he was arrested several times. From 1940 to 1944 he did military service again . After the war he became a member of the DP / FDP. In the first electoral period he was a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament for the FDP from July 29, 1947 to April 8, 1948 and again from July 9, 1948 until his death . The first time he moved up for Fritz Neumayer , the second time for Carl Neubronner . In the state parliament he was a member of the social policy committee and the economic and transport committee. He was also a member of the district council.
