Karl Haegele (born March 12, 1904 , † June 30, 1977 ) was a German notary . He was the author of various standard legal titles in the field of voluntary jurisdiction , some of which are still published today.

Life

Haegele began his legal training in 1920 as an intern in a notary's office in Ulm. Unlike today, he did not need a qualification for judicial office, which required a degree in law. After training as a notary's assistant, he first worked in the notaries' offices in Ulm and Dietenheim . He then worked for some time at the Ulm District Court until he was appointed as a notary in Oberndorf am Neckar . In 1944 he was appointed district notary . At the end of the Second World War, Haegele was taken prisoner by the Soviets, from which he returned to Württemberg in 1947, seriously ill. He initially worked at the notary's office in Vaihingen / Enz until he was transferred to the Neuenstadt am Kocher district notary's office in 1949 . This went hand in hand with his reappointment as district notary with effect from February 1, 1949. Haegele worked in this position until his retirement on June 1, 1966.

Scientific work

Haegele began at a relatively young age in the 1930s with the publication of smaller print products with a focus on inheritance law . He continued his publishing activity undiminished during the war. After his return from captivity, he was one of the first authors of the first post-war volume of the magazine Der Deutsche Rechtspfleger , which, with reference to the predominant readership, mainly deals with issues of voluntary jurisdiction. In 30 years of writing for this magazine, Haegele published a total of 109 papers there alone. In 1953 Haegele's first standard title Der Testamentvollstrecker appeared , which is now in its 20th edition. In 1954 the second classic came onto the market for the first time, at that time still in the series “Handbuch der amtsgerichtlichen Praxis”, meanwhile “Handbuch der Rechtsspraxis”, Volume 4 Land Register Law . Haegele supervised this work up to the 5th edition, after which it was taken over by his colleague Kurt Stöber . The title will have its 16th edition in 2018. In addition, Haegele published other books in the field of voluntary jurisdiction.
