Karl Heinz Engelhorn

Karl Heinz Engelhorn (born September 6, 1905 in Hagenau , Reichsland Alsace-Lorraine , † October 24, 1944 , executed in the Brandenburg prison ) was a German professional officer and resistance fighter from July 20, 1944 .

Colonel Georg Alexander Hansen inaugurated the lieutenant colonel in the General Staff Engelhorn in the plans to overthrow Hitler . After the failed assassination attempt on July 20, 1944 , Engelhorn was arrested. The People's Court, under its President Roland Freisler, needed five days of hearing for a total of seven defendants before Karl Heinz Engelhorn and four other defendants were sentenced to death on October 12 . The execution took place on October 24th in the Brandenburg prison by shooting .
