Karl Heinz Schröder (born December 19, 1929 in Remscheid ; † June 6, 2008 in Leverkusen ) was a German publisher and party functionary of the DKP .

Life

Born into a working class family, he trained as a locksmith and joined after the liberation from National Socialism of IG Metall of, FDJ and KPD to.

From 1951 to 1968 Schröder was the organizer of the West German delegations to the World Festival of Youth and Students . During this time he was a representative of the central office of the banned FDJ on the executive committee of the WBDJ . This made him the initiator and first chairman of the festival working group .

As one of the organizers of the youth work of the KPD, he became the founder of Weltkreis-Verlag and publisher of the youth magazine elan until 1971.

In 1968 he was one of the founders of the DKP . As secretary and member of the Presidium, he was responsible for his party's international relations from 1969.

He died on June 6, 2008 of complications from a severe stroke.
