Karl Holluba

Karl Holluba (born August 27, 1944 in Falkenau-Kittlitz , Böhmisch-Leipa district ) is a German politician of the Die Linke party and was its federal treasurer from 2006 to 2010. Before that, he was an SED functionary.

He has been married since 1967 and has two daughters. In 1962 he graduated from high school and then began a commercial apprenticeship. From 1963 to 1968 he studied financial economics at the University of Economics in Berlin-Karlshorst (HfÖ) and became a graduate economist.

Holluba became a member of the SED in 1967 and was a research assistant at the HfÖ from 1968 to 1971. In November 1971 he received his doctorate. oec.

From November 1971 to June 1986 he was on the Central Council of the FDJ , from 1980 head of the finance department. From July 1986 to June 1987 he attended the Karl Marx party college and from July 1987 to the end of 1989 he worked in the Central Committee of the SED in the department of financial administration and party operations. He has been in the finance department of the party executive committee of the PDS since 1990 and head of finance since 1991.

In April 2006 he was elected federal treasurer of the Linkspartei.PDS and held this office until June 15, 2007. After the merger of PDS and WASG , he was elected Treasurer of the Left and remained so until 2010.
