Karl Holoubek

Karl Holoubek (born April 21, 1899 in Vienna ; † December 28, 1974 ibid) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and works assistant. He was 1950-1953 member of the Bundesrat and 1953-1966 Member of the National Council .

Life

After elementary school, Holoubek attended a community school and subsequently graduated from the technical school for book printers and type foundries, where he learned the profession of typesetter . As a result, Holoubek was employed as an operations assistant at Mautner Markhof . He worked at the local political level as chairman of the district organization of the SPÖ Vienna- Rudolfsheim and was a member of the Federal Council between March 20, 1950 and March 18, 1953. He then represented the SPÖ between March 18, 1953 and March 30, 1966 in the National Council.

Holoubek was imprisoned several times for his political commitment. He was imprisoned during the Austro-Fascist period in 1934 and from 1935 to 1937. In 1938 he was taken into Gestapo custody and sentenced to two and a half years in prison before the Berlin People's Court.

One of Karl Holoubek's grandchildren is the law professor and constitutional judge Michael Holoubek .
