Rudolfsheim borders in the north and east on the Fünfhaus district , in the south on the Sechshaus district , in the west on the cadastral community Penzing (14th district Penzing ) and in the southwest on Schönbrunn (13th district Hietzing ). In the Schönbrunn area, the cadastral community reaches across the Wien River; the Schönbrunn underground station , for example, is part of Rudolfsheim. The cadastral parish covers an area of 167.44 hectares .

Under the name Rudolfsheim-Braunhirschen there is a counting district of the official statistics consisting of seven counting districts, whose area, however, only takes up part of the cadastral community of Rudolfsheim.

history

After almost all places in the area of today's 15th district were destroyed during the second Turkish siege in 1683, five villages were created, partly through the reconstruction of the old settlements: Rustendorf, Braunhirschen, Reindorf, Sechshaus and Fünfhaus. Three of them, namely Braunhirschen, Rustendorf and Reindorf, merged to form a community in 1863 due to the high population increase and easier administration, which was named in honor of the then five-year-old Crown Prince Rudolf Rudolfsheim. In 1892 Rudolfsheim was incorporated into Vienna, together with Sechshaus, as the 14th district of Vienna . On the 1912 city map, the district owns the central part of the Schmelz , but no longer in the interwar period. (District border 14/15 existing until 1938: see: Rudolfsheim-Fünfhaus .) On October 15, 1938, Rudolfsheim was combined with Fünfhaus to form the 15th district of Fünfhaus. On February 15, 1957, Fünfhaus was renamed Rudolfsheim-Fünfhaus by a local council resolution.
