Reindorf is part of the 15th district of Vienna Rudolfsheim-Fünfhaus and forms, together with Rustendorf and Braunhirschen, the district half of Rudolfsheim .

history

The name Reindorf was first mentioned in 1411, when the Rhine referred to arable and wine-growing grounds that were located in hollows. However, this medieval settlement was probably destroyed by floods from the river Vienna at the time or by enemies. The area was not largely settled again until the 18th century, when the other villages in the area were rebuilt after the second Turkish siege in 1683, in 1770 Reindorf comprised 52 houses and in 1801 already 101.

In 1863 Reindorf was merged with Braunhirschen and Rustendorf to form the community of Rudolfsheim.

coat of arms
