Karl Kaschka

Karl Konrad Kaschka (born January 8, 1904 in Vienna , † December 4, 1941 in Bir-el-Gubi , Al-Marj , Libya ) was an Austrian officer and fencer . He was a participant in the Austrian fencing team at the 1936 Summer Olympics . During the Second World War he was in the German Air Force with the rank of Major Commander III. Group of Destroyer Wing 26 in North Africa , where his machine was shot down on December 4, 1941 over Al-Marj, Libya, and he was killed.

Karl Kaschka was a member of the Austrian Army Sports Association (ÖHSV) and was Austrian champion in saber fencing in 1932 and 1933 . At the Olympic Summer Games in 1936 he took part as captain of the Austrian saber-fencing team, with the Austrian team reaching 5th place.
