Karl Klammt

Karl Klammt (born February 4, 1912 in Friedewalde, today Skoroszyce ; † October 16, 1987 in Landshut ) was a German politician of the GB / BHE and as such from 1950 to 1959 a member of the Bavarian state parliament .

biography

Klammt attended elementary school and the Gliwice branch of the Administration Academy in Breslau . After passing the exams for the middle and the upper postal service, he worked as a postal inspector in Gleiwitz. During the Second World War he was deployed, most recently as a corporal, on the Eastern and Western Fronts. After he was released from captivity in the US, he moved to Simbach bei Landau , where his family, who had fled from Silesia , settled. As a postal worker in Landshut, he returned to his old working environment.

Functions

From 1948 Klammt was active in organizations for expellees. In 1949 he became regional manager of the new citizens 'union , he was also district chairman of the returnees' association , from 1953 he was Bavarian state chairman and deputy federal chairman of the Federation of Children in Germany and, since 1955, deputy district chairman for Lower Bavaria of the Silesian Landsmannschaft .

In 1950 Klammt participated in the founding of the BHE and was elected the first state secretary of the party, in which he later held the office of second district chairman for Lower Bavaria . In the state election in 1950 he was elected to the state parliament in the constituency of Lower Bavaria. During his first electoral term until 1954 he held the office of chairman of the committee for affairs of displaced persons and victims of war.
In the 1954 election his mandate in the state parliament was confirmed, and in the new electoral term he acted as secretary in the state parliament presidium. He was also a member of the parliamentary group's executive committee.
In the state elections in Bavaria in 1958 , he was re-elected to the state parliament, but left parliament on March 5, 1959. His successor in the mandate was Waldemar Kluge (BHE, SPD).

In March 1958, Klammt was elected mayor of Landshut.
