Karl Kollhoff , until 1888 Karl Fleischfresser (* 1846 in Brüssow ; † August 24, 1901 in Berlin ) was a German ministerial official and department head in the Prussian War Ministry .

Life

After graduating from high school in Prenzlau, Kollhoff first studied philology in Berlin and joined the Germania Berlin fraternity there in the winter semester of 1865/66 . In the summer semester of 1866 he moved to the University of Göttingen and joined the Hannovera fraternity . He later changed the subject and turned to law.

Kollhoff entered the Prussian management career in 1879 and was initially a member of the military directorate of the II Army Corps in Stettin and was also the director of the directorate of the 4th division in Bromberg. In 1881 he was transferred to the military directorate of the V Army Corps in Posen. There he was appointed director's council in 1885. In 1888 he took the family name Kollhoff. In 1889 he belonged to the military directorate of VI. Army Corps in Wroclaw. In 1891 Kollhoff was assigned to the Ministry of War for service. There initially worked for several years in the cash department while being promoted to the Secret War Council. In 1896 he was appointed lecturer council, in 1897 he was appointed real secret war council. After that, he was assigned to other departments for shorter periods of time: in 1897 in the service department (responsible, among other things, for the personal details of the officials of the garrison administrations) and in 1898 in the accommodation department. In the opinion of his superiors, he then had the necessary experience, so that in 1900 he was made head of the directorate department in the Central Department of the War Ministry. At the same time he became an extraordinary member of the examination committee for senior managerial officials. This made Kollhoff one of the highest-ranking officials in the War Ministry. He retained both offices until his early death. For his services he was awarded the Crown Order III. Class with a ribbon.
