Karl Kriso

Karl Kriso (born March 25, 1887 in Peggau , † December 1, 1972 in Graz ) was an Austrian mechanic, university professor and rector of the German Technical University in Brno .

Life

Kriso studied from 1906 to 1911 at the Technical University in Graz, was there from 1912 assistant at the chair for mechanics and completed his studies in 1914 with a doctorate. From 1914 to 1918 he took part in the First World War as a war volunteer, most recently as a first lieutenant . In 1920 he came to Dortmund temporarily as an engineer , in the same year went to Java for the Dutch government (until 1924) and in 1928 became an associate professor at the German Technical University in Brno. In 1934 he became a full professor of mechanics there. Kriso was Dean of the General Department of the TH in 1935/36, Rector 1936/37, Vice-Rector from 1937 to 1941 and again Rector from 1941 to January 1945.
