Life

Karl Kristoffersen comes from the Kristoffersen family of artists. His father was Kristoffer Kristoffersen (1902–1970) and his mother Dorthe Kristoffersen (1906–1976). He is the brother of Simon (1933–1990), Sara (1937–2008) and K'itura Kristoffersen (* 1939).

Karl Kristoffersen did not have any artistic training. His art most closely resembles that of his brother Simon. He works with whale bones and creates figures that demonstrate strength, for example a man splitting stones. In addition, he has also created sculptures that are larger, such as a half-meter high stone sculpture in the town hall in Nuuk, which shows a man and an Inussuk . His works have been exhibited several times in Denmark and can also be found in Greenland.
