Karl E. Kurb (born December 27, 1947 in Geislingen an der Steige ) is a German business informatics specialist and professor of business informatics at the European University Viadrina in Frankfurt (Oder) .

Career

From 1969 to 1974 he studied business administration at the University of Mannheim . After graduating with a degree in business administration, he worked as a research assistant from 1975 to 1978 and obtained his doctorate in 1977. rer. pole. at the Faculty of Business Administration at the University of Mannheim. In 1978 he moved to Berlin. From 1978 to 1982 he worked there as an academic advisor and lecturer in the field of systems analysis and IT, computer science department, at the Technical University of Berlin . In 1982 he completed his habilitation in the computer science department of the TU Berlin and was awarded the qualification to teach in the field of applied computer science . From 1982 to 1985, he took over a professorship for business informatics at the Faculty of Economics at Bielefeld University . From 1985 to 1990 he held the chair for business informatics (later business informatics) at the Technical University of Dortmund . In 1990 he took over the chair of business informatics at the newly founded institute for business informatics at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster . From 1995 to 2016 he held the chair of business informatics at the European University Viadrina in Frankfurt (Oder). On March 31, 2016, Kurb retired.

In addition, he is the dean of the Virtual Global University (VGU) School of Business Informatics (SBI) based in Berlin .
