Resplandor is a Peruvian band from Lima , whose music style is located in the area of Shoegaze , Dream Pop and Indie Pop . Resplandor means in Spanish as much as gloss , glow , glimmer of light .
history
Along with the internationally expanding shoegazing style in the 1990s, Antonio Zelada, Luis Rodríguez and Wilmer Ruiz founded the band in early 1996. Two years later they produced their debut EP Sol De Hiel . They gave their first concert in the sold out “Bauhaus Club” in the Miraflores district . After further appearances, they recorded their debut album Elipse in the studio in 1999 , which was released in February 2002. Several songs on the album then appeared on shoegazing samplers on international scene labels. Outside of the country, Resplandor toured the east coast of the United States and performed at the 5th "Fuga Jurásica" festival in Buenos Aires in 2003 , hosted by the Argentine record label Fugu Discos .
In March 2008 the third and so far last album Pleamar was released , which was recorded and produced by Robin Guthrie ( Cocteau Twins ). The band is now signed to the US label Saint Marie Records in Fort Worth , founded in 2011 , where they have been working on another album since 2012. Outside Peru, Resplandor was shown at the SXSW Festival in 2010 and 2011 and in 2013 in Los Angeles at the Culture Collide Festival. In 2013 the band played as support for The Cure at the Estadio Nacional , Lima.
