Karl Lohmann (economist)

Karl Lohmann (born August 31, 1939 in Emden in East Frisia ) is a German economist.

Live and act

After studying mathematics , physics and philosophy at the Free University of Berlin and the Georg-August University of Göttingen from 1959 to 1965, Lohmann initially worked from 1965 to 1968 as an employee at the Aerodynamic Research Institute in Göttingen, before joining Hans-Dieter in 1968 Deppe was discovered for economics . At the Institute for Banking Management and Corporate Finance at the University of Göttingen, he worked under Deppe's direction until 1973. During this time, he also received his doctorate on the subject of non-linear models for financial service planning for credit institutions .

Lohmann continued his work as an employee of the business administration seminar at the University of Göttingen until 1993 and devoted himself primarily to questions of securities analysis . In 1992 he completed his habilitation on the topic of stochastic models for evaluating future payment services from a business perspective . He subsequently worked at the universities of Heidelberg , Clausthal and Ilmenau . In 1993 Lohmann accepted the chair for general business administration , in particular investment and finance as well as banking management at the Technical University Bergakademie Freiberg . Here he taught and researched until his retirement in 2004, where he was honored with a symposium and a torchlight procession through the city. Among other things, Lohmann was Dean of the Faculty of Economics from 2000 to 2003 .

Nowadays Lohmann works at the University of Applied Sciences in Emden and regularly gives lectures.
