Karl Müller (born January 16, 1873 in Rügenwalde , district of Schlawe , † 1953 in Lübeck ; also Carl Müller ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Life

Müller attended a four-class elementary school and then completed an apprenticeship as a locksmith, which he completed with the journeyman's examination. He worked as a journeyman machinist until 1905 and was also active in the metalworkers' association , whose branch he headed in Hameln from 1895 to 1905 . From 1905 to 1913 he worked as a warehouse keeper and from 1913 to 1933 he was the managing director of the Hamelin consumer association . Furthermore, he was chairman of the AOK from 1903 to 1933 and an assessor at the insurance office of the city of Hameln from 1913 to 1922 .

Müller joined the SPD in 1895. During the November Revolution he was chairman of the Workers 'and Soldiers' Council in Hameln, where he served as an honorary senator from 1918 to 1933. From 1919 until the Hameln district was dissolved, he was a district council and district committee member. He was a member of the Provincial Parliament of the Province of Hanover from 1919 to 1925.

Müller was a member of the Prussian state constituent assembly from 1919 to 1921 . In February 1921 he was elected as a member of the Prussian state parliament, to which he belonged until 1932. In parliament he represented constituency 16 (south Hanover).

After the seizure of power by the Nazis in May 1933 he moved his residence to Lübeck, where he died 20 years later.
