Karl Marten Barfuß (* 1938 in Leer , East Frisia ) is a German economic historian .

Life

Karl Marten Barfuß studied from 1960 to 1965 at the University of Hamburg and from 1968 worked initially as a lecturer and later as a professor of economics at the University of Bremen . From 1994 to 2000 he was Vice President of this university.

Services

Karl Marten Barfuß wrote several important works for the economic history of Northwest Germany . In addition, he promoted the museum presentation of northwest German industrial history as chairman of the scientific advisory board of the Museum for Industrial Culture (North Wool) in Delmenhorst.

During his time as Vice President of the Bremen University of Applied Sciences, Barfuß promoted international exchange, especially with Eastern Europe.
