Karl Max Walthard

Karl Max Walthard (* 1895 ; † 1971 ) was a Swiss doctor and neurologist .

Walthard received his doctorate in medicine from the University of Bern in 1922 . In 1929 he completed his habilitation at the University of Zurich with a thesis on "the relationships between neurological-clinical diagnoses and pathological-anatomical epicrisis " and became a private lecturer there . In 1936 he became a private lecturer in physiotherapy at the University of Geneva . From 1947 to 1962 he was professor there for physiotherapy, hydrology and medical climatology . He was director of the Geneva University Institute for Physical Therapy and became honorary professor in 1963 . In 1956 he published a book about his great-great-grandfather Beat Ludwig Walthard through the Swiss Gutenberg Museum .
