Karl Nemeczek

Karl Nemeczek ( Ukrainian Карл Немечек ; * 1950 in Chernivtsi , Ukrainian SSR , Soviet Union ), is a trumpeter and music teacher.

Karl Nemeczek was born in Chernivtsi, the former capital of the crown land Bukowina, into a German-speaking family who immigrated from the Czech Republic . From 1968 to 1972 he studied music at the Conservatory of his hometown and from 1972 to 1978 trumpet at the Kiev Music Academy with Mykola Berdijew. In Kiev he worked in the radio orchestra, the film orchestra, the state opera, the state symphony orchestra and as a lecturer at the music school. In 1978 he came to Donetsk in eastern Ukraine, where he worked as a solo trumpeter in the ensemble of the State Opera and as a teacher for trumpet in the conservatory. Back in Kiev in 1980 he was appointed first trumpeter of the Kiev Symphony Orchestra and continued his educational work at the Reinhold Glier Music Institute.

In 1989 Nemeczek came to Germany with his family as a repatriate, only his older daughter stayed in Chernivtsi. Since 1991 he has been teaching the trumpet at the art schools in Waiblingen and Backnang in Baden-Württemberg . He appears as a soloist and conductor with many orchestras in Germany and abroad. He maintains contacts with his hometown of Chernivtsi, where he visits the Chernivtsi S. Worobkewytsch Conservatory as a guest professor and took part in the gala concert “Autumn Rendez-vous” for the 75th birthday of the Bukovinian musician Leonid Satulowsky. In addition to the trumpet , Nemeczek plays the horn , corno da caccia and trombone . Nemeczek's repertoire includes works from the Renaissance to the present day. His concerts have appeared on numerous CDs.
