Karl August Neunzig (born October 6, 1864 in Berlin-Schöneberg ; † June 11, 1944 in Berlin-Hermsdorf ) was editor of the journal Gefiederte Welt from 1900 to 1938 .

Karl Neunzig attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Berlin . At first he devoted himself to landscape painting , later the depiction of animals, especially birds. His drawing of the Spix's Macaw is famous . Karl Russ won him over to illustrate the journal Gefiederte Welt , which he took over as editor in 1899 after the death of Russ. For decades he brought numerous essays and very good bird pictures to the Feathered World , especially reports on keeping of exotic birds. He used folk ornithology to direct the mind to bird and nature conservation . He continued to workThe manual for bird lovers by Karl Russ, which has now appeared in two volumes, Fremdländische Stubenvögel (5th edition 1921) and native Stubenvögel (4th, 5th, 6th edition 1904, 1913, 1922). Ninety did not live to see the fall of the Nazi empire, in which he was outlawed because he was not completely loyal to the line.
