Karl Pfannkuch
Karl Pfannkuch (born March 17, 1898 in Kassel , † December 10, 1965 in Eppstein ) was a German editor.
Life
Pfannkuch was born as the son of the businessman August Pfannkuch and his wife Marie Roth. After studying at the universities of Marburg and Kiel , he joined the bibliographic publisher FA Brockhaus in Leipzig .
After the end of the war he went to Wiesbaden with Hans Brockhaus in 1945 and re-founded the publishing house there under the name of Eberhard Brockhaus . As scientific director of the publishing house, he oversaw the publication of the first Brockhaus encyclopedia after the end of the Second World War.
