Karl Raible

Karl Raible (born May 9, 1924 - December 6, 2018 ) was a German brewing scientist. He was the founder and long-term managing partner of Stabifix Brauerei-Technik .

Raible received his dissertation from the Technical University of Munich in 1951 with a contribution to biological water analysis in breweries .

The urn burial took place on January 7, 2019 at the Gräfelfing cemetery .

Raible test

The Karl Raible invented and named after him Raible test to predict the filterability of beer is still used in many analytical laboratories in the 21st century.

The classic Raible test uses coarse diatomaceous earth (1.25 Darcy ) for the precoat and fine diatomaceous earth (0.1 Darcy) for the current dosage on a wire mesh.

The German and international brewing industry was enriched by an elementary aid through his work in the 1950s and 1960s on the protein stabilization of beer with the help of silica gel .
