Karl Uchermann (born January 31, 1855 in Vestvågøy , † October 15, 1940 in Oslo ) was a Norwegian animal painter and illustrator.

Uchermann was born as the son of the pastor Arnt Uchermann and Anna Stang. He married Bolette Hermana Schnitler in 1892. He was a nephew of the Prime Minister of Norway, Frederik Stang , and a cousin of Prime Minister Emil Stang .

Uchermann studied from 1872 to 1875 at the Norwegian Academy of Crafts and Art Industries, from 1875 with the landscape and animal painter Anders Askevold in Bergen, since November 18, 1876 at the Royal Academy of Arts in Munich and from 1878 to 1881 with the animal painter Émile van Marcke in Paris .

Uchermann mainly painted pictures of animals, mostly dogs and cows. He also painted altarpieces, illustrated children's books and magazines.

Uchermann designed the world's first franking machine in 1901 and, together with the Norwegian entrepreneur Nils Aall Krag, developed it further until it was ready for production.
