Karl Vak
Karl Vak (* February 17, 1930 - July 28, 2001 ), Dr. jur., was General Director of the Central Savings Bank of the City of Vienna in the 1980s. In 1990 René Alfons Haiden , previously his deputy, became his successor.
From March 15, 1988 , the exhibition Erbe und Mission: Jewish Vienna , produced on behalf of the Vienna Tourism Association for the Jewish Welcome Service Vienna , was shown under his aegis in what was then the main building of the credit institute, 3rd, Vordere Zollamtsstraße 13 In 1988 it was shown in New York under the title Heritage and Mission: Jewish Vienna .
Karl Vak was made an honorary citizen by the City of Vienna in 1990 .
