from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Karl Vogelsang (born April 21, 1932 in Essen , † June 24, 2006 in Kronberg im Taunus ) was a German painter and textile designer.

Live and act

Vogelsang studied from 1954 to 1959 at the Hochschule für Bildende Künste Hamburg and at the Hochschule für Bildende Künste Berlin . Since 1963 he has been a freelance independent designer & painter (reference March 4, 1983, Beletage Galerie im Studio, Düsseldorf, Bilder-Bethge, Erfurt, Vogel Gallery, Heidelberg.) In 1983 his first marriage broke up. The tragedy of his son overshadowed his life and permanently changed his painting in collages in which he dealt with the death of his son. It was not until 1993, when he met his second wife Karin Vogelsang, also an artist, that he experienced a new rise in his art in a new, bright color scheme. He left Starnburg after 32 years and moved to his second wife in Kronberg, known for the painters' colony there and the last residence of Empress Victoria. In the early 1970s, he made fabric designs that were printed at Taunus Textildruck, Oberursel .

After a long and serious illness, Karl Vogelsang died in Kronberg.
