Karl Walleiser (born October 10, 1839 in Schrimm ; † February 18, 1914 ) was a German captain and writer.

Life

Karl Walleiser was a son of the Justizrat Karl Walleiser sen. from Schrimm and his wife Henriette Walleiser, b. Tonsé. He became a captain and a military writer. From 1879 he was paralyzed and lived in the Berlin Invalidenhaus . His sister Eugenie (1842–1890) was married to Max Mandel (1834–1910), who ran the Klein Dammer estate , where Martha Fontane worked as a tutor and where she met him in 1881. Walleiser was also acquainted with Theodor Fontane , who wrote about Walleiser in a letter of June 25, 1880 to his daughter: “I [...] had only pleasant impressions. His fate, his character, his education and manners - everything captivated me. He seems to belong to an artistically and literarily amateurish family, which is always an asset and a recommendation [...] Captain Walleiser told me [...] a lot about [...] John Redcliffe [...] in his Kurhaus to Warmbrunn he lived year and day. "

Karl Walleiser also wrote under the pseudonym Alfred Tonse.
