Karl Wilhelm Martin

Karl Wilhelm Martin (born October 27, 1846 in Frenkendorf , † December 16, 1885 in Liestal ) was a Swiss politician .

Life

Martin graduated from the district school in Liestal and the pedagogy in Basel . He then studied in Berlin and Basel and received the title of Dr. iur. In Basel he had several official positions until he became head of the complaints office at the Swiss Central Railway .

Martin entered the government as a representative of the rejuvenated party of order from 1872 to 1873 and held the post of military and police. He was also a member of the district administrator for a short time . In 1873 he took over the law firm from Hans-Georg Schwarz in Liestal and was president of the cantonal gymnastics club. He died of a heart attack at the age of 39 .
