Karl Winkler (born October 23, 1899 in Worms , † June 15, 1960 ibid) was a German football player and coach .

Act

Winkler played in the mid-1920s in the storm of SV Normannia Pfiffligheim , Wormatia Worms and SV Wiesbaden . He later became a trainer himself, before and after the Second World War at Rot-Weiß Oberhausen, with whom he was Niederrheinmeister in 1947 and 1948. As a trainer at Prussia Dellbrück , Winkler was Vice-West Champion in 1950. In 1954 he became West Champion with 1. FC Köln and reached the DFB Cup final. After a few years at Schwarz-Weiß Essen , he became national coach for Cyprus before he last coached Wormatia Worms. He died of complications from cancer.

Karl Winkler was the brother of Willi Winkler .
