The SV Normannia 1910 Pfiffligheim eV is a German football club based in the Pfiffligheim district of Worms .

history

Founded until World War II

The club was founded on April 30, 1910, despite the outbreak of World War I, gaming operations could be maintained until 1916. After the end of the war, games could be resumed in 1919. At the beginning of the same year, the team then also joined the South German Football Association , whereupon the club was divided into the C-class. As early as the 1924/25 season, the club played in the A-class and was able to achieve the championship title there. In the promotion round, however, the team did not reach a place that would have qualified them for promotion. After several redistributions within the A-class , Pfiffligheim succeeded again in the 1926/27 season, with which, after a likewise successful completion of the promotion round, promotion to the district league could be secured.

In the following years, the team could not secure a top position, but at least hold the class. As a result of a league reform in 1934, the club and some of the former district league clubs were transferred to the newly structured district class. From the 1938/39 season onwards, the club was assigned to the district of Vorderpfalz. After the 1940/41 season, the team was even able to qualify for the promotion round to Gauliga Südwest within the Saarpfalz relay . With only 1: 7 points, the team ended up in third and thus last place of the round. During this time, the team made it to the finals for the South German Cup a few times . Due to the events of the Second World War, gaming operations could only be maintained until 1943.

Re-establishment in the post-war period

After the end of the Second World War, the club was re-established in 1946 as a department of SV Worms-Pfiffligheim . In 1947 there were championship games again, which were followed by promotion to the then second-class national league after the 1949/50 season. His first season in the national league, the team was able to end with 19:37 points in 13th place with relegation. Also in 1950 the association became independent again and took its old name again. After the next season the class was then dissolved, with the seventh place the team just missed the move into the new 1st Amateur League Southwest and thus entered the 2nd Amateur League Rheinhessen for the next season . As early as the 1953/54 season , however, the team rose to the 1st amateur league and even finished this season in fifth place with 34:26 points. Due to the second place in the 1954/55 season , the club was then allowed to participate in the amateur championship in 1955 . With 8: 4 points in Group 3 , the team only ended up in second place and thus missed the semi-finals. The 1955/56 season could Pfiffligheim then complete with the championship and was thus allowed to compete in the qualification for the II. Division . With 6: 6 points it was only enough for third place with which the promotion could not be achieved. After the next season , the team had to relegate to the 2nd amateur league again due to 15th place and 22:38 points. From there, one season later it even went back down to the A-Class. After the 1958/59 season, there was a further descent into the B-Class. After the 1960/61 season, however, the company was promoted to the A-class again. After the 1962/63 season, another promotion to the 2nd amateur league followed. The team was able to stay there until the 1965/66 season, after which they should relegate to the A-class.

Establishment in the A-Class until the 1990s

In 1970 a women’s team was founded, but it was disbanded for a short time. During the following years, the team played consistently in the A-class, but could never record another promotion, only after the 1988/89 season there was promotion to the district league through structural reform. The first season 1989/90 the team could then finish in third place. After player strikes due to a lack of payments from sponsors and several resignations, the team was then no longer able to hold the class and was relegated to the A-class again after the 1990/91 season. After a close relegation in the 1991/92 season, the further relegation to the B-class followed one season later.

Elevator crew status

After the 1996/97 season, the runner-up in the class, which has now been renamed the district league, participated in the relegation for promotion to the district class. With a 7-0 win against RWO Alzey II , the team also won their first game relatively clearly, since the opponent should then no longer play for the second game, the team was then allowed to climb directly. But after just one season it was over again and the team had to relegate. However, right after the 1998/99 season, he was able to participate again in the relegation games for promotion to the district class. Against TuS Wörrstadt it took three games to finally be ascertained as promoted for the 1999/2000 season. After this season, the team should actually have been relegated again, especially due to the defeat against Germania Eich in the playoff for the fourth relegation place. However, for reasons not known in detail, the team was allowed to remain in the league. Because the club had only 15 players left for its team after a massive departure, the class could not be held again. After the 2001/02 season it even went down to the then lowest division, the district class. After the 2007/08 season, after winning the relegation games, it was possible to rise again to the Worms district league. The team stayed there only for a short time and had to relegate to the district class again.

Promotion back to the A-Class

For the 2014/15 season, the team was supplemented with numerous former youth players from the neighboring SV Leiselheim . With a new trainer, he was promoted to the B-Class, which was always followed by higher positions. After the 2018/19 season, after 20 years, the promotion to the A-class followed, in which the club also played in the following season.
