Karl Wolfskeil

Karl Wolfskeil (born January 26, 1921 in Sulzbach / Saar ; † January 10, 2000 there ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

After elementary school and high school, Wolfskeil completed a commercial apprenticeship. He was then called up for Reich Labor Service and military service. During the Second World War he was taken prisoner by the Soviets, from which he was released in December 1945. In 1946 he was employed by the Saar regional council, from 1947 to 1950 employed by the Saarland welfare office and from 1950 to 1955 and from 1956 to 1957 employed by the Saarland government.

Wolfskeil was a member of the Saarland Social Democratic Party (SPS) from January 1946 and switched to the German Social Democratic Party (DSP) in October 1952 . In 1955 he joined the Saarland SPD and worked for them from 1955 to 1956 as state secretary. From 1955 to 1963 and from 1967 to 1975 he was chairman of the SPD local association Sulzbach, from 1961 to 1967 chairman of the SPD sub-district Sulzbach and from 1967 to 1970 deputy chairman of the SPD sub-district Saarbrücken-Land.

Wolfskeil was councilor in Sulzbach from 1956 to 1974 and chairman of the SPD city council group from 1962 to 1970. In 1960 and again from 1964 to 1968 he was first alderman of the city of Sulzbach. From 1974 to 1979 he was a member of the Saarbrücken City Association . In 1957 he was able to move up for Kurt Conrad in the Saarland state parliament . He was a member of parliament until the end of the fifth legislative period (1970) and was most recently the first secretary to be a member of the Presidium of the State Parliament.

In 1975 Wolfskeil was one of the first to be awarded the newly established Saarland Order of Merit .
