Karl Zener

Karl Edward Zener (born April 22, 1903 in Indianapolis , Indiana , † September 27, 1964 in Durham , North Carolina ) was an American psychologist who was known for his joint work with Joseph Banks Rhine in the field of extra-sensory perception .

Life

Zen cards

Together with Joseph Banks Rhine, Zener developed the Zener cards named after him, which were used to demonstrate potential telepathic abilities of test subjects. The Zener cards have the same basic color and each have one of five different symbols (circle, cross, 3 wavy lines, square, five-pointed star) in the colors yellow, red, blue, black and green, of which there are five copies each.
