Willem "Wim" van Rekum (born June 9, 1892 in Arnhem ; † December 27, 1961 there ) was a Dutch tug of war and Olympic silver medalist.

Career

At the 1920 Summer Olympics in Antwerp , Belgium , van Rekum won the silver medal in the tug of war with Wilhelmus Johannes Bekkers , Johannes Hengeveld , Sijtse Jansma , Henk Janssen , the brother couple Antonius and Willem van Loon and his brother Marinus van Rekum . In the competition that took place on August 17 and 18, 1920, the eight-person team, whose average weight was 85 kilograms per person, entered the first competition against the Italian teamon; The Dutch won the duel 2-0 after 71 and 43.25 seconds respectively.
