Marinus Cornelis "Rinus" van Rekum (born February 7, 1884 in Arnhem , † November 16, 1955 ibid) was a Dutch tug of war and Olympic silver medalist.
Career
At the 1920 Summer Olympics in Antwerp , Belgium , van Rekum won the silver medal in the tug of war together with Wilhelmus Johannes Bekkers , Johannes Hengeveld , Sijtse Jansma , Henk Janssen , the brother couple Antonius and Willem van Loon and his brother Willem van Rekum . In the competition that took place on August 17 and 18, 1920, the eight-man team, whose average weight was 85 kilograms per person, competed against the Italian team in the first competition ; The Dutch won the duel 2-0 after 71 and 43.25 seconds respectively.
