Karl von Kerssenbrock (born December 16, 1750 in Vreden , † November 20, 1829 in Münster ) was abbot of the Liesborn monastery.

Life

Karl von Kerssenbrock was a direct descendant of Hermann von Kerssenbrock (1519–1585). He entered the Liesborn monastery in 1769 , professed in 1770 and was ordained a priest on April 1, 1775. Then he was novice master , chaplain at the parish church and later cellar , until he was elected abbot in 1798.

During his time, Liesborn Abbey was secularized in 1803. He then lived in Münster until his death in 1829 and was buried in the Ludgerifriedhof. His diary is important as a contemporary document.
