Karlheinz "Kalla" Mozin (born September 27, 1934 ; † February 11, 2011 ) was a German football player . He played in the position of defender .
career
player
In 1955 Mozin switched from TuS Essen-West to Schwarz-Weiß Essen . With the black and white he commuted from 1955 to 1963 between the Oberliga West and the 2nd League West . After Schwarz-Weiß Essen was not considered for the Bundesliga , he played with the Uhlenkrug team in the Regionalliga West until 1967 .
The greatest success of his career was winning the DFB Cup in 1959 5-2 against Borussia Neunkirchen . On the way to the final, the Essenes had to face the north champion Hamburger SV u. a. with Uwe Seeler and Charly Dörfel , who until then had been three and a half years without a home defeat. Essen won a sensational 2-1 after extra time . In the 116th minute, goalkeeper Hermann Merchel suffered a head injury, so that right defender Mozin stood between the posts for the remaining playing time.
In 1967 he reached the promotion round to the Bundesliga with black and white, in which the Essenes narrowly failed to Borussia Neunkirchen, the final opponent of the 1959 DFB Cup final.
Trainer
After his active career as a player, Mozin returned to his home club TuS Essen-West, which he trained in the regional league. In 1972 he made promotion to the second-rate Regionalliga West as an assistant coach with 1. FC Styrum . At the beginning of the 1972/73 season , Mozin was appointed head coach. After the team had spoken out against further cooperation with him, Mozin was fired shortly after the start of the second half of the season.
Other coaching stations were Westfalia Herne , 1976 SpVgg Erkenschwick and VfB Speldorf .
