Life

Born as the daughter of the house inspector at the Vienna Theater in der Josefstadt , she was already on stage in a children's fairy tale when she was two and a half years old. She sang couplets at the age of five and starred in children's performances. She was considered a "child prodigy" who got her own solo scenes and gave lectures. She played at the Hamburg Thalia Theater from 1889 to 1930 and from 1941 to 1943. It was there that she met her husband Albert Bozenhard .

On the occasion of her 40th stage anniversary in 1929, Karli Bozenhard was the first woman to be made an honorary member of the Thalia Theater. Her tombstone is in the women's garden at the Ohlsdorf cemetery in Hamburg.
