Karrer is an impact crater on the southern hemisphere on the far side of the moon. It is northeast of Minkowski Crater and south of Leavitt Crater .

The most striking feature of Karrer is its dark crater floor. This was created by flooding the interior of the crater with lava , which had a lower albedo than the surrounding area. The outer outline is almost circular, but is interrupted in the northeast by a smaller crater. The inner walls have the same tint as the surrounding area and clearly trace the boundary line of the flooded crater floor. The crater rim is eroded in places, especially in the north in the area of the overlapping impact.
