Karsten Honhold (born January 28, 1947 in Timmendorfer Strand ) is a former German boxer .

Life

As an amateur, Honhold, who boxed for BC 59 Travemünde, was runner-up in Germany in 1969 in West Berlin and in 1971 in Kiel . He had a total of 167 amateur fights. In May 1972 he played his first fight as a professional boxer.  Honhold, who works as a farmer with a farm near Travemünde , competed in the fight for the German light heavyweight championship against Leo Kakolewicz in May 1975 , but lost in Ludwigshafen  by knockout in the eighth round. At the beginning of October 1976, Honhold faced Kakolewicz again in the ring. The fight for the German championship was held in a tent on the Hamburg Heiligengeistfeld , Honhold had to give up the fight in the ninth round and then declared that it was time to stop his boxing career. About a year later, Honhold fought again before he fought again for the German light heavyweight championship in February 1978. In Kiel he met Karl-Heinz Klein and went down twice, the fight was stopped in the third round. Honhold fought his last fight as a professional boxer in May 1978.

Honhold looked after his son Christian as a trainer .
