Karsten Kemna
Karsten Kemna (born March 5, 1973 in Wuppertal ) is a former German basketball player on the center position. The 2.06 meter tall Kemna played in the basketball league for Brandt Hagen and SSV Ulm .
Career
Kemna from Wuppertal played between 1993 and 1997 at Iona College in New York State . He was used in 101 games for Iona and scored a total of 143 points and 142 rebounds for the "Gaels". After his return to Germany, he worked first for Brandt Hagen and then for SSV Ulm in the basketball league . In 1998 he reached the final of the German championship with the "Spatzen", but lost there with 0: 3 games against Alba Berlin . In addition, he gained international experience with Ulm in the European Cup competitions Korac Cup and Saporta Cup . At times he acted as the team captain from Ulm. According to the special edition 2000/01 of the professional magazine basketball , he was distinguished by “ambition, struggle and reliability”.
Following the 2000/01 season, Kemna went to the 2nd Bundesliga , first playing for SC Rist Wedel (2001/02), then four years for the Paderborn Baskets . In his last season (2005/06) Kemna won the championship title in the northern season of the second division with the Ostwestfalen.
After his playing career, Kemna worked as a coach, he was in charge of TV 1864 Salzkotten (2006/07) in the regional league. His job is in banking.
